Last summer, I wrote a post about the science of a smile and what happened when I tried a smiling experiment of my own. I’ve decided to revisit that post here. I want to re-emphasize how the simple act of smiling is good for us, not just for others. Whether you’re a new subscriber, or you read that post, it’s still a good reminder.
I know many of us may not be smiling much lately, due to the goings-on in the world and the ripple effects on our own lives. I hope this post, and the science relayed, can serve as an inspiration to actively do so. The simple act of smiling can truly affect how we feel internally. And that’s no small thing.
My smiling experiment leads to a story about an experience I had while doing performance capture acting work. It was my first time doing that kind of work and I share a little of how that went. You might find that interesting, too.
