Last fall, fellow spy daughter and memoirist,
, and I spoke for an Arts & Culture event at Berkeley City Club titled “Spy Daughters in Conversation”. We talked about our experiences as spy daughters, how we found out about our fathers’ true vocations, the differences between our father’s jobs and our family experiences, and our truth-telling and book publishing journeys. Our event had a wonderful response.

Join me and Leslie on Wednesday, March 5, from 6:00–8:00 p.m at Book Society, a new book and wine lounge in Berkeley that’s generating all kinds of media buzz. The event includes our talk and conversation, wine pairings and tastings, yummy snacks, and dedicated time for socializing and networking. 🍷 📚 🥰
Last March, I spoke at Book Society’s pop-up “Dare to be Fabulous Book and Wine Social” at Broc Cellars winery. I talked about the theme of Dare to be Fabulous and gave prompts from the book to spark the lively conversation. It was a lot of fun, offering a taste of what Book Society’s lounge would soon bring to the community.
Founder Laura Guzman has now manifested her vision. Book Society held its grand opening in December and is a truly beautiful and special space.
